## Summary

Dr. Simeon New, an ex-Apple engineer who worked on the Apple Watch's ECG and temperature sensors, explains his transition to creating a 'living bioelectronic patch' for treating psoriasis. The device combines a flexible PCB with Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria held in a gelatin hydrogel to secrete anti-inflammatory compounds while monitoring skin resistance, temperature, and humidity. New highlights how this platform, currently in pre-clinical stages, offers continuous feedback to address the inconsistency of traditional skincare treatments. The hosts discuss the potential for treating other skin conditions and the regulatory hurdles of FDA approval.
