## Summary

Alex Abbott, CRO at SmartSolve, explains how their water-soluble paper packaging dissolves into harmless wood fibers when exposed to water, addressing concerns about plumbing and circularity. The discussion covers SmartSolve's current applications, including tampon wrappers from DAYE and labels, while exploring future developments in barrier films for flexible packaging and single-use items like stick packs. Abbott emphasizes that water-soluble materials offer a necessary niche solution to reduce persistent plastic waste, rather than replacing all packaging types.
