## Summary

Calvin Frost, a recycling pioneer whose work inspired the TLMI sustainability awards, discusses the pressure-sensitive label industry's sustainability crisis with host Adam Peek. Frost explains that while liner and face stock are recyclable, traditional adhesives contaminate paper streams, making labels non-recyclable unless 'benign technology' is used. He argues that Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and brand demands from companies like 3M, Avery Dennison, and Procter & Gamble are forcing a shift toward these eco-friendly adhesives and better liner logistics. The conversation also covers the environmental downsides of sleeve packaging and the value of clear PET in recycling markets.
