## Summary

Chris Luecke hosts a panel with Tom Gaudet of PTC, Beth Parkinson of Rockwell Automation, and Ryan Wasmund of Concept Systems to demystify digital transformation and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). The experts define digital transformation as ranging from simple digitization of paper records to complex digital twins, emphasizing that success depends on integrating disparate systems rather than just buying new technology. They identify the primary barrier to adoption as cultural resistance and the IT/OT divide, noting that 90% of Proof of Concepts (POCs) fail because people are unwilling to change established workflows. The discussion highlights new challenges like hyper-personalization and generational workforce gaps, while expressing excitement for technologies like Augmented Reality (AR) and digital twins to attract younger engineers.
