## Summary

Matt Hatton, Founding Partner at Transforma Insights, discusses the intersection of IoT and AI following his attendance at MWC Barcelona 2024 and the Channel Partners event. He highlights that while generative AI is a prominent buzzword, its current operational use in telecom is largely focused on cost reduction rather than fundamental architectural shifts. Hatton also details the industry's struggle with fragmentation, the rise of eSIM technology (specifically SGP.32), and the growing but under-discussed complexity of global regulatory compliance.
