## Summary

Matt Hatton, Founding Partner at Transforma Insights, discusses key trends for the IoT industry in 2024, highlighting the shift from horizontal platforms to vertical, solution-based offerings. He explains how increasing regulatory pressures regarding data sovereignty and security are forcing vendors to localize architectures and prioritize compliance. Hatton also analyzes the convergence of AI and edge computing, noting that while transformative, it will be a slow burn due to orchestration complexities, and warns that technology fragmentation continues to inhibit adoption.
