## Summary

Chiz Chikwendu, CTO of Cumulus Digital Systems, explains how his company, spun out from Shell, uses Bluetooth and digital tools to solve quality and efficiency issues in industrial settings like refineries and construction sites. He discusses the challenges of IIoT adoption, specifically the lack of on-site infrastructure, intrinsic safety concerns, and the resistance to new technology in established industries. Chikwendu highlights the critical need for standardized Bluetooth GATT profiles for tools like torque wrenches to avoid vendor lock-in and reduce integration costs. He also details how Cumulus addresses security through SOC 2 Type 2 certification and SSO, while ensuring field workers adopt the software by eliminating manual paperwork and using familiar mobile UI patterns.
