## Summary

Dan Mathers, President and CEO of eleven-x, explains that smart parking is the flagship smart city use case because it addresses four key drivers: operational efficiency, quality of life, economic development, and sustainability. He details how inefficient parking management causes gridlock, CO2 emissions, and lost revenue, and describes eleven-x's wireless sensor and cloud platform as a modular solution that delivers ROI in under a year. Mathers advises municipalities to start small with innovation budgets, use consultants for subject matter expertise, and scale their IoT deployments based on proven use cases rather than attempting massive, monolithic system designs.
