## Summary

Matt Branda, Vice President of Product Management at Impinj, explains how Rain RFID extends the Internet of Things to everyday objects like apparel and luggage by using passive, battery-less tags. He details the technology's advantages over NFC, including longer range and the ability to read thousands of items simultaneously, citing Delta Airlines' luggage tracking as a key enterprise use case. Branda discusses how the pandemic accelerated adoption in retail and supply chain for visibility, while highlighting current challenges in scaling production to billions of items and embedding connectivity into general IoT devices rather than specialized readers.
