## Summary

Rene Midouin, who previously built scalable systems for the New York City Metropolitan Transportation Authority, explains how he applied those reliability and security principles to CHEF iQ’s smart cooker. He details the product's ecosystem, which combines hardware with a companion app to provide guided cooking recipes and remove the guesswork from temperature and timing. Midouin discusses the critical role of privacy and security in consumer IoT, emphasizing transparency and the use of Bluetooth for credential transfer to ensure a seamless user experience. Finally, he outlines CHEF iQ’s vision for a 'smart kitchen' that focuses on user experience and community rather than just remote control functionality.
