## Summary

William Yan, President of AV Systems Americas, explains how standardized device management platforms like those supporting Lightweight M2M (LwM2M) are critical for scaling IoT solutions beyond pilot stages. He details the three-layer IoT architecture and argues that adopting industry standards reduces fragmentation and manual labor when managing multi-vendor device ecosystems. Yan highlights specific use cases, such as telecom operators onboarding enterprise sensors and managing firmware updates, while identifying key industry challenges like unclear business goals and siloed technology focus.
