## Summary

Sanjeet Pandit, Senior Director for Business Development and Head of Smart Cities at Qualcomm, discusses the current state and future of smart city deployments. He outlines Qualcomm's Smart City Accelerator program, which acts as a matchmaking platform for system integrators, governments, and solution providers to deploy projects like smart lighting, parking, and public Wi-Fi. Pandit emphasizes that while 5G enables high-reliability applications like autonomous driving, successful adoption requires addressing budget constraints, legacy infrastructure, and the critical need for partnerships across the fragmented IoT ecosystem.
