## Summary

Bryan Jones, SVP & GM of Embedded & Edge Solutions at Dell Technologies, explains that edge computing moves processing closer to data sources to reduce latency and cost, citing a cold chain solution with IMS evolve that monitors refrigeration in retail stores. He notes that early IoT initiatives often stalled due to a lack of clear ROI, leading to a shift toward solutions with defined business outcomes. Jones also discusses the regional differences in IoT adoption, highlighting how developing markets like India are leapfrogging legacy infrastructure through smart city investments, while North America struggles with integrating existing systems.
